David Kaplan, Managing EditorToday, AdExchanger.com is excited to announce that David Kaplan has joined the team and will drive TVexchanger.com as its Managing Editor.

AdExchanger.com's Managing Editor (John Ebbert) discussed the road ahead with TVexchanger.com's new Managing Editor.

John:  Hey David - what are you doing here?

David: I'm the new managing editor of TVexchanger.com.

John:  Get outta here...

David:  I'd rather not.

John: So, how do you see it - why TVexchanger.com?

David:  The pace of change in the interactive TV space right now is blindingly fast. I don't think anyone's quite got a handle on what all the talk of "cord-cutting" and "over-the-top" services/devices really amounts to. But beyond that, the intersection of online media buying and selling methods through companies like MediaOcean, InVision, Simulmedia and TRA, to name four, reflect a significant shift occurring right now under the television industry's feet. This is probably the most exciting time for television since cable started becoming mainstream three decades ago.

John: Any thoughts on "the plan" for TVexchanger.com - editorially speaking?

David: We'll be interested in covering the rise of the connected home, the acceleration of time-shifted viewing, interactive TV, addressable, over-the-top services and devices and how it affects the process of buying and selling television advertising.

John:  Hey - how about helping out on AdExchanger.com, too?

David: While I am intensely focused on immersing myself in the disciplines associated with the "new TV," I can't quite give up my deep attraction to figuring out how interactivity is affecting the entire media business, especially publishing. Besides, I don't think there's anyone else who loves covering AOL as much as I do. (Except, perhaps, Nicholas Carlson of Business Insider. I admire his obsession of all things Armstrongian!)

John: Cool.  Welcome aboard!
